Inspecting the House

If you are visiting the Islamic Manuscripts House to inspect it and its department, or to view the manuscripts displayed in the exhibition in the main lobby, you can visit the House during the official working days (Sunday – Thursday) from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Viewing the manuscripts digitally

If you are a researcher or are interested in manuscripts and their sciences, you are a graduate student at a university, preparing a research for master’s or PhD thesis, or a graduate student in other disciplines but you have to refer to manuscripts in the field of your thesis, we will be pleased to assist you in the way you need to access the manuscript electronically. There are rooms equipped with the latest equipment to view the manuscripts digitally photocopied. Also, your request can be met by attending the Islamic Manuscripts House and going to Digital Manuscripts Reading room on the first storey. There are two rooms, one for men and other for women.

Studying the rare books and periodicals

In Islamic Manuscripts House, there is a rich room with many valuable old periodicals that are related to the art of rhetoric, literature, heritage and manuscripts, which you can study when visiting the House. While studying the collection of rare books is limited to researchers and interested people after coordinating with the House’s supervisors through Ask the Keeper.

You can also search through the search page on the site, selected periodicals or rare books in the type field.

Studying the original manuscripts

If you are a researcher or a graduate student at a university, and you are preparing a master’s or PhD thesis on manuscripts, or if your thesis is about a particular manuscript  and the electronic version is not enough for research, you can, under certain conditions, see the original manuscript, under supervision of the relevant staff member of the House, after you have completed the application form for access to an original manuscript, where your application will be examined, and based on your need, and the status and privacy of the manuscript, a decision is made and your visit is being coordinated. Field visit

If you are a teacher at a school, or a professor at a university, academic, scientific or educational institution, and you would like to organize a visit to a number of people to the manuscript house, to inspect its valuable contents, benefit from reading rooms or create a workshop on manuscripts, you can view the details of this service through learning and education, or you can coordinate your visit through direct contact with the House administrator on the contact information, provided on Contact Us page.
