Departments and Functions of the House
Management
Its functions include supervising all departments in the house, coordinating between its various departments to serve the objectives set, and coordinating with external bodies: governmental, academic or research, and ways to cooperate with them in order to exchange experiences and benefits
Beneficiary Services department
Its function is to welcome the beneficiaries of student, researchers and others, receive their requests to view or photocopy the manuscripts and supervise the hall of manuscripts.
Digital Photography department
Its function is to photocopy the house’s manuscripts digitally with high quality, archive these photos, and receive and implement the requests of photography.
Restoration and Treatment department
Its function is to periodically sterilize the manuscripts of the house, maintain and preserve them by modern scientific methods and according to the international conditions used to preserve the historical value of the manuscript, provide full reports on their condition, and also receive visitors who wish to see the methods of treatment and restoration.
Binding department
Its function is to bind the manuscript, rare books and periodicals or rebind them according to their condition and receive the visitors who wish to see the binding process.
Indexing and Classification Department
Its function is to index the manuscripts of the house with accurate descriptive indexing, according to scientific bases, and provide brief scientific reports about them, making it easier for researchers to access information in the easiest ways
Magazine, Investigation and Publishing Department
Its function is to Issue peer-reviewed scientific magazine concerned with manuscripts and their sciences, as well as publish heritage texts and scientific research related to manuscripts.
Electronic library department
Its function is to create a database of manuscripts, including manuscript indexes, and their related scientific references
Supply department
Its function is to purchase original manuscripts, rare books, manuscript indexes, books, magazines, and heritage periodicals from book fairs and libraries.
